What I like about Donald Trump

Let's be clear...anyone who votes for Trump is a maniac...but he does bring to light the quiet negativity of the American people.  You know, the things we don't talk about but generally accept as true.  Racism, Sexism, Elitism, and ignorance just to name a few.  This is what I truly appreciate about Donald Trump....almost every time he speaks, he brings up one or two or five of those unspoken negative qualities embedded in the American culture.  Even better, there are then people who go behind him and try to spin or redefine or justify what he just said....it's very interesting to watch.  These "interactions" highlight some of the problems we have in the world today with popularity and anger and hate.  I hate that guy so much that I'll vote for this other guy (or gal) with all of my heart.  That's politics today...all Trump has said is that I will be better than Obama because we all hate him...but he never provides the "how".  People believe in him because he is wealthy, white (let's keep it real) and popular...but not competent.  No one knows if he's actually capable....but Obama had the same issues and he wasn't so bad...well the people voting for Trump will say he was horrible...even though he was more competent than Trump is now.  But he wasn't wealthy...and he wasn't white (let's keep it real)...so I guess that's OK.  America has to start having more introspection because I'm not sure we know who we are anymore.  Our national identity seems to made up of an ideal that isn't present in everyday society....goodwill toward men, love thy neighbor, help one another, listen and learn, fight for what's right....where are these qualities....right?

This Superman Wonder Woman thing

So I like superhero movies and I've watched a lot of the cartoons and stuff like that.  Marvel easily has more established characters but DC has the big 3, Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.  They seem to inject those 3 or at least 2 of them in everything they do.  I really love their animated efforts from Under the Red Hood (the best one) to Young Justice.  But I've noticed that they don't seem to know what to do about Superman and Wonder Woman together.  They seem to really want to promote a relationship there which is news to avid fans because they have historically been linked to other people.  With Superman, it's always been Lois Lane and Wonder Woman has been about Steve Trevor.  This is how I've always known it to be from the original TV shows to the Christopher Reeves movies.  But now they seem to jump all over the place, I'll explain it in context: The Justice League  cartoon which later morphed into Justice League Unlimited was a pretty cool series

Chicago: The Killing Fields

So my family and I had the pleasure of travelling to another major city this weekend.  It was a fun time had by all but something strange kept happening.  Whenever we told anyone we were from Chicago, their faces became downtrodden like we had just returned from a war torn country or something.  "How to you survive out there?" or "How to you cope with all the killing happening all the time?"  I understand that Chicago is getting a pretty bad national identity and most of it is naturally deserved but people need to understand some fundamentals about the city.  This may help them to understand why the problems exist and more importantly, why the problem continues. Chicago is a segregated city and I mean that in the most brutal way possible.  You have the Caucasians, African Americans, Latinos, Asians, Russians, Middle Easterners, and Polish all occupying a defined area in the city with very little commingling.  Couple this with financial segregation which limits the
